Recap of Software announcements at HP Discover Frankfurt

Were you able to attend HP Discover Frankfurt? The event was a huge success with over 9500 delegates taking over the Meese Frankfurt Trade Fairgrounds. There were so many amazing sessions and keynote presentations. The Discover Zone—the heart of the event—was filled with pavilions, demo theaters, kiosks, tours and a plenary main stage.

320600_10152315353115290_601752892_n.jpgWe also had two “Meet the Expert” events on day one and day two at Discover. This provided an opportunity for attendees to sit down one-on-one and talk with our HP experts. I overheard so many great conversations and I know guests were able to get all their questions answered.

We also announced many new products during the event. Now that the hustle and bustle of the event is behind us, let’s look at these products more closely.

Business Service Management 9.2 (BSM 9.2)

BSM Version 9.20 provides new ways for you to manage and optimize the health of business services, applications, infrastructure and networks from one console—all powered by meaningful intelligence and analytics to help you be more efficient and reduce down time.

It is the first solution of its kind to use big data analytics to improve the performance and availability of business software across mobile and hybrid IT environments.

With the increasing use of virtualization and cloud technologies, IT organizations no longer know or control all the technologies in their environment. This makes it difficult for applications and operations teams to foresee potential issues. IT needs a new solution that both predicts the occurrence of known problems and identifies previously unknown issues before they occur.

HP BSM delivers end-to-end visibility into IT applications and services. It offers real-time and historical analytics to monitor the health of the entire IT stack—from business services and applications to the infrastructure and networks. Now clients can anticipate real IT issues before they happen.T-image__sw__overview__bb__virtualization_perf_viewer_app__large__560x342--C-tcm245-1281220--CT-tcm245-1237012-32.png

Virtualization Performance Viewer (vPV)

As part of the BSM 9.2 solution, we announced VPV. It is a lightweight triage tool that virtualization administrators and subject matter experts (vSME) can use to diagnose and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks in virtualized environments.  It supports multiple hypervisor types including VMware and Microsoft. vPV also provides highly visual treemaps view to help quickly visualize performance bottleneck areas.

You can download the free version of vPV and try it out for yourself.  It is easy to install and get up and running within minutes.  Gain immediate value today by using this virtual appliance in your environment.

ArcSight Logger

Also as part of the BSM 9.2 solution, HP ArcSight Logger 5.3 is an update to our industry-leading universal log management solution. It unifies searching, storing and analysis of logs and events while providing users with a single-pane-of-glass. The new Logger 5.3 has been through an enhanced overhaul that changes the way it is deployed and used. It has a unified installation and configuration process that helps you deploy this log management solution in only minutes. Imagine seeing the start of log analysis in the first 15 minutes.

The Logger 5.3 can now be deployed on Windows-only shops through Windows support through the Hyper-V image. This Hyper-V Logger 5.3 helps you to deploy Logger on Windows 2008 R2 and start collecting logs without knowing any Linux commands. You get the best of usability and reliability of log management solution.

CDA 1.1

Our new HP Continuous Delivery Automation (CDA1.1) software supports DevOps and allows customers to now deliver high-quality applications—without further delays. HP Continuous Delivery Automation automates the application release process —from development and quality assurance, to staging and release into production. All of this is made possible through a single tool, available to all teams participating in the process.

HP CDA is powered by HP Flexible Application Modeling. This HP innovation simplifies the design and modeling of an application and its infrastructure through a building-block approach. These building blocks include application components—such as databases and middleware—as well as infrastructure components—such as servers and storage.

To create an application design, the user simply connects the appropriate building blocks together. The user then modifies the blocks along the application life cycle as needed, without having to modify the application code as it moves from test to stage and to production. This expedites application design and enables users to leverage best practices across multiple models.

CSA 3.1

HP Cloud Service Automation is the industry’s most comprehensive, unified cloud management platform for building, brokering and managing enterprise-grade application and infrastructure cloud services. Its open, extensible architecture allows your customers to improve responsiveness, while reducing costs and speeding time-to-market of application services for public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

This update offers customers:

  • Business continuity with a new highly available architecture that continues to operate, even in the event of a failure in any one of the web, application or database layers,
  • Greater flexibility with an open, extensible architecture for heterogeneous IT environments that now includes support for OpenStack and KVM cloud environments(OpenStack and KVM support available through integration with HP Continuous Delivery Automation), in addition to Microsoft® Hyper-V and VMware,
  • Protection against network, application and virtual-machine security threats with HP TippingPoint network and cloud security through HP TippingPoint CloudArmour solutions,
  • Manage multiple cloud environments using a single self-serve portal, delivering true hybrid cloud management.

HP SiteScope integrates with Amazon CloudWatch

HP SiteScope integrates with Amazon CloudWatch which is an AWS monitoring and auto-scaling tool.  The integration allows HP SiteScope metrics to be reported into the AWS CloudWatch monitoring service which can allow consumers to extend their auto-scaling policies.

During HP Discover, Orasi announced they will offer a new Performance Monitoring solution from HP on Amazon Web Services.  Orasi Software, a leading services provider, today announced it has been selected to sell HP’s industry-leading performance monitoring solution, HP SiteScope, using a cloud-based model. The offering will be hosted via Amazon Web Services and be available for licensing in hourly increments through the AWS Marketplace, making it easy to consume only what you need, when you need it.With AWS Marketplace’s 1-Click deployment you can quickly provision SiteScope through a pre-configured and certified Amazon Linux image and start monitoring your key metrics in a matter of minutes.

I hope you enjoyed your time in Frankfurt, I know I did. If you were unable to attend this year, check out Discover Online which has on-demand session videos. You can also hear directly from some of our experts at Backstage with HP Software.

Hi,

I am using HP NNM 9.10 performance for metrics on server-2 & HP OVPI 5.41 on server-2.

2. When I do http://server1:9300, I get - The NNM machine could not be determined. Unable to to use NNM authentication - an installed & functioning extension pack is required.

I have checked there are 3 packs installed in the "About " link.

2. When I am trying, NNM-PI intergration in server-2, I get "unable to fetch nodes" & "nodesync failed".

please suggest something.
