Consistent delivery for project success (Part 4 of 4-part series)
In this final installment of a four-part blog series, Erik van Busschbach, Worldwide Program Director, HP Software Services explains how HP Software Services can help you implement the IT Performance Suite with minimal risk. The team helps you create a strategy and approach to quickly implement the IT Performance Suite so you gain value faster. Throughout the deployment, measurements are applied to achieve early success and drive momentum. Core to our approach is the application of our Common Solutions Framework (CSF) that powers our software solutions.

The final part powered by the CSF is the delivery of the IT Performance Suite, and is focused on ensuring sustainable and measurable business value. The delivery phase is managed by a combination of HP and customers as one team. The core project team comprises a close-knit group with the program/project manager, the lead solution architect, the management of organizational change (MoC) lead and customer champions. The HP Global Method for Project Management, used by our Professional Services team, and based on the standards defined by PM BOK and the practical experience of thousands of projects, drives the implementation and adoption of the HP Software solutions. This helps you realize the business outcomes defined during the visioning and roadmap phases of the customer engagement.
One of the benefits of the CSF is that it enables our 3,000-strong team to apply the same proven, consistent project methods the world over harnessing the power of the community. So if we need to call in an expert from our organization to help resolve a delivery problem, they can come, understand the specific customer context, and then pick up the correct project flow immediately.
Aside from the actual deployment, a key feature of the delivery stage is the integral management of organizational change and client education and training. These services help grow your teams’ competencies in the technology and optimize its value in the short and long term.
I know from my own experience that it’s one thing to make technology available. It’s another to make it a success. So much of optimizing the performance and value of software is about ensuring people can use it to its full potential. Our education and MoC experts – working to the principles defined in the CSF – work with your users to ensure that the IT Performance Suite will deliver its intended value. Typical objectives include improving mean time to repair, hitting predefined KPIs and advancing service availability.
Of course, major IT deployments can encounter issues. But by using HP Software solutions powered by the CSF, we significantly reduce the scope for hiccups. And we’re fine-tuning both the framework and the HP Software solutions powered by it continuously through dialogue with our teams and you, our customers. This input builds on its proven ability to help you deliver the IT Performance Suite quickly, efficiently, successfully and at a reduced cost.
