Hey IT department, "Where is my mobile App?"

If you are in IT, you are already in the midst of the largest enterprise mobile application rollout in history. Your employees are using their own Mobile devices, may be you have participated in defining your company BYOD strategy. And it's very probable that you have received a question from your colleagues asking you "Where is my mobile App?"

The Enterprise's user is a very different kind of user, they expect the same user experience at work that they have as a consumer but the reality is very different. They are forced to use old fashioned and siloed applications to do their daily work. Now with HP Anywhere, IT departments have the possibility to provide a real Connected, collaborative mobile application platform for the enterprise.

HP Anywhere is a mobile app platform designed to mobilize the enterprise, connecting users with corporate systems and with each other on their device of choice. It combines the open standards of HTML5 and JavaScript with unique capabilities for predictive collaboration, system integration and enterprise security to deliver a powerful mobile application development experience.

HP Anywhere is an innovative enterprise mobile applications platform. Designed to enable enterprise workers who are connected and need to collaborate with each other.

Three things make HP Anywhere a unique platform:

1. It is a mobile platform, where work and activities can be organized. From active work in progress to interactive collaboration, the Front Page is a starting point for workers to track and manage their work in progress.

2. The platform enables collaboration between people, wherever they may be working. From processing an expense report in an HP Anywhere Panel to updating a defect, users often need to connect with each other. When they do, HP Anywhere can facilitate the conversation in the context of the work at hand.

3. HP Anywhere Panels, or Apps are also capable of interaction with each other. Users will find intuitive “Next Action” options when using HP Anywhere. For example, a user who is working on a problem management ticket in the HP Anywhere Problem Management panel will find that an optional next step of “Create Change Request” would be available. Even though the two back end systems are not related, the relationship and context can be shared in the HP Anywhere platform, making it easy and efficient for the user to take the next natural step.

Hi Manuel,

Great blog post.  In your post, you said,  “The Enterprise's user is a very different kind of user, they expect the same user experience at work that they have as a consumer but the reality is very different.”, and I can’t agree with you more.

Too often, the enterprise user gets 2nd or 3rd rate mobile apps to do their work.   Sure, in some organizations, the transformative power of mobility is clear and employees have the tools to productive everywhere, but this isn’t the norm.  The cost  and capacity pressures that IT teams face on a daily basis make it hard for them to do it all.

That’s why HP Anywhere is such an exciting solution.   An enterprise mobile app development platform that gives them the ability to create cool, connected and compelling mobile apps for their employees… Connecting them to both the back office systems and more importantly each other.  I really hope they check out HP Anywhere and the HP Anywhere Developer Zone
