Upgrade from SM9.3 to SM9.31

Hi Expert, I would like to seek help for Upgrade from SM9.3  to SM9.31 steps.

SM client

SM server

webtier 9.31

Which sequence is correct? From the guideline it keeps on pointing to SM9.31 file but my original just showing SM9.30.

Appreciate that if anyone can help

Thanks

Re: Upgrade from SM9.3 to SM9.31

Upgrade the binaries (RTE) on your server first.

Then apply the Application Patch and the Web Teir/Client upgrades (order here doesn't really matter from what I've found)

Re: Upgrade from SM9.3 to SM9.31

Hi,

Yes client does not matter much just ensure that you apply webtier and server simultaneously (means in single downtime).
what does it mean "From the guideline it keeps on pointing to SM9.31 file but my original just showing SM9.30."

there are wto type of upgarde
rte - only binary and in SM client new RTE will be shown (9.31)
Full appl upgrade - Can check after logging in to SM.

hth,

Re: Upgrade from SM9.3 to SM9.31

SM 9.31 is a minor patch to SM 9.30.

So generally speaking it continues to be SM 9.3 and it is just another level of patch.

As SM 9.31 can be adopted component by component, there is no specific order.

You can start with the server, then you can proceed with windows and web client, then

if needed you can apply the Application Patch, which changes and adds different objects in

SM 9.3.

If you upgrade only the server you main folder will remain to appear as Service Manager 9.30,

new for 9.31 will be added only for windows and Applications upgrade.

If you use the Windows Services to start/stop the server, there you will also have unchanged record

from SM.90 Server service.
