Unable to create operator using User Quick Add Uitlity

Hi All,

I am unable to create operators using "User Quick Add Uitlity", when I do that then I get below error msg.

You are not allowed to have a null password.  Please try again.
Insert cancelled by trigger (se.base.method,add.record.radd)
file:(operator) key:(name=testtt) (se.base.method,add.record.radd)
You are not allowed to have a null password.  Please try again.
Contact record added.
Could not create: testtt.  Error: Validation failed
Created contact: TSTTEST
Contact template: FALCON, JENNIFER

I can over come this error msg and create operators only when I go to 'system information record' -->Password tab --> Password Composition -->remove check against "Always requires a password".

As per the policy here, user are not allowed to keep blank password so I am not able to create a Operators in User Quick Add Uitlity.

Can some help me in overcoming this issue please, I do not want users to keep blank password and I should be able to create operators using "User Quick Add Uitlity"

Attached the snap shot of error message

Regards,

Ben

Re: Unable to create operator using User Quick Add Uitlity

You can update the quick add utility to assign a default password when creating a new operator.

Re: Unable to create operator using User Quick Add Utility

This is a known issue in HPSM

U need to prefix password filed and added the same in wizards and scripts.

This should work.

Re: Unable to create operator using User Quick Add Utility

Hi All,

I am having same issue, after applying password policy it is not not allowing me to mass add/expire password of user.
Along with it while using "Keep password hsitory" SM is displaying message "The system requires you to choose a new password. That password has been used before.
"

Thanks,

Re: Unable to create operator using User Quick Add Uitlity

Alternatively use the following workaround:

  1. Go to Form Designer and search for form = cau.createUser.details
  2. Inside the form click “Design” button and below all of the fields add a new “Text” field.
  3. On the properties of this next text field put Input “$password”
  4. Click Ok, and then again Ok to save the changes to the form.
  5. After that navigate to the Wizards (System Administration > Tailoring > Wizards) and search for createUser 1 wizard.
  6. Inside of this wizard go to “Variables” tab and add ”$password” and save the changes.
  7. Again go back to the Wizards and search for createUser 2 wizard.
  8. Inside of the wizard go to “Actions” tab and then “JavaScript” tab. Replace the already existing javascript with:

if ( vars.$optype=="power" )

        system.library.createUsers.createUser(vars.$firstname, vars.$lastname, vars.$login, vars.$phonenumber, vars.$templatename, vars.$email, vars.$contactname, vars.$password);

else

        system.library.SelfService.registerEssUser(vars.$firstname, vars.$lastname, vars.$login, vars.$phonenumber, vars.$templatename, vars.$email, vars.$contactname, vars.$password);

  1. Save the record.
  2. Go to Database Manager and load the attached Script Library unload (createUserv2.unl).
  3. Once loaded navigate to Script Library (System Administration > Tailoring > Script Library) and search for “createUsers” script.
  4. Inside of this script click buttons “Complite”, “Execute”, and “Save”.
  5. After that log out, log in and try to reproduce the issue (do not forget to populate the new filed you’ve added which is password)

Best Regards,
