Service Manager 9.30: Message from LDAP server: Can't contact LDAP Server

Hi All,

I have HP Service Manager 9.30 64-bit in windows 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit.
We found messages from service manager that always showing "Messages from LDAP Server: Can't contact LDAP server".
I confused why that is occur only on production, but on development it doesn't appear.
For more details, please find out attachment.
I hope you can give me explanation why that is happened and help me to solve this problem.

Regards,

Okik

Hi Okik,

You can also refer to:

This km doc also talks about ldapauthenticateonly:1 and ldapstats:1.

Re: Service Manager 9.30: Message from LDAP server: Can't contact LDAP Server

Hi Yan,

Thanks for your advice and solution but im not sure is it will be resolved my problems. I have check sm.ini on service manager, I don't find "ldapauthenticateonly" on sm.ini and now I want to ask, why the problems occur two days ago if that parameter must be set on sm.ini while service manager has been since 1 years ago.

I tried to trace ping ldap server and write it to file.

I found request time out on files, is it problem from there?

regards,

okik

Re: Service Manager 9.30: Message from LDAP server: Can't contact LDAP Server

Hi okik,

Yes, that's possible, since sm server is just like any other ldap clients, it tries to bind to ldap server using the id/password you give in sm.ini, then search the object. If ping ldap server timeout, sm server will also time out when connect ldap server.

Cheers :)
