Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi there,

I have configured SSL. I Have tried to connect and I got the following error:

"Error Connecting to server, server not up or wrong connection parameters:
http://localhost:13081/SM/ui

Cause: javax.xml.xoap.SOAPException: Message send failed - connection to host http://local host:13081/SM/ui refused. Your server session may have been terminated or timed out. You may need to go to the login page and log in once again."

I have attached an extract of the sm.log file.

Many thanks in advance!

Fed

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi Febs,

How did you try to connect - via web or windows client?

Check certificates paths. Make sure all certificates are in the right directory.

Did you set the certificate path in Windows > Preference > Security?

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi Alex,

Thank you very much for your reply.

1- I did double checked the paths and they are right.

2- I am trying to connect via windows client.

I am not sure why this error occurs. :(

Any other suggestion are really welcome!

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi Federico,

What I would do is to recreate all certificates, everything from scratch.

In the log i see: Protocol handler initialization failed: java.io.IOException: Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect - which means there is something wrong with the certificates or with the paswword.

Another point is the error you get is about port 13081 which is http port. In your configuration i see that the port for SSL connection is 13443.

Did you try to connect via this port?

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi Alex,

Yes I have used the port 13443 and I got the same result

I am not in the porcess to recreate the certificate from scratch.

I will keep you updated.

Thanks

Federico

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Hi Federico,

What kind of certificates you are using? SM does work with certificate version 1.

If you need multiple hostnames you need to use preferredFQHN:hostname parameter in the sm.ini.

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

Feds, a few observations and questions:

  • in sm.cfg, you're opening ports 13080 and 13081.  You have ssl and the sslConnector set to zero for 13080, but since ssl is set to 1 in sm.ini, you have ssl turned on anyway for 13080.
  • If you're using the windows client, what port are you trying to connect to?  Please provide a screenshot of your configuration options.
  • Did you setup your client certificates and configure the windows client properly?  If so, can you send screenshots of those configurations?

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

About point 1 check the following link: http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/document/KM1007131

About point 2 when you login without SSL enabled you do not need certs to be installed.

Re: Service Manager 9.3 Server Connection error - Client error

I tried it by myself and it is working file.  Just follow the instructions from the 'Setting up Single Signon HS.pdf' file included in the attached Single Signon Authentication.zip
