SM9.21 File Attachment Storage Location

Hi,

We use SM9.21 and have found that any files uploaded and attached to incident records (from a web client) currently appear to be be stored on our web-teir servers at a URL similar to:

https://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/ServiceManager/attachments/227389190400ce91c721fc46ea0e3cac/uploads/8a80ab03411768f00141c5c30c520005/Test.bmp

This is under the 'inst' folders under the Tomcat folder on our web servers.

Am I correct?  Is this the default location for uploaded files?

Is it possible to change the file location to a different folder structure (or server)?

Any help to understand how the whole file attachments thing works would be appreciated.

Regards,

Re: SM9.21 File Attachment Storage Location

Hi,

This is for the temporary purpose while adding attachment before passing to SM database and do not feel it is possible to alter the same.

hth,

Re: SM9.21 File Attachment Storage Location

Thanks for the reply.

As this is a temporary storage location, do you know where the actual file eventually gets stored?

I just want to understand my options in relation to file storage configuration and size/usage impact etc.

Regards,

Re: SM9.21 File Attachment Storage Location

All attachments are stored in SYSATTACHMENTS table of SM in compressed form.
