Question regarding Virtual Join with array

Hi all,

In our implementation in change request form, we have a table that gathers data from the end user and dumps the value into an array. This information is passed to the task form associated with that change. If there is one row of data, the transfer from change to task works great, however if there are several lines, only the first line shows up in the task. I believe this is related to the fact mentioned in the help file:

  • The target field must be a scalar field (non-array).

Have anyone found a workaround for this issue?

Thanks in advance,

G

Re: Question regarding Virtual Join with array

Hi,

You can try to use javascript or post expression by writing as follow ,

source.array $File=target.array in $L.target

Re: Question regarding Virtual Join with array

Hello,

just to understand a bit better:

data which you are copying is copied in right way but virtual join shows only first line (I do mean that in target file data is stored not like one row)?

Regarding Pikus expression source.array in $File=target.array in $L.target

Re: Question regarding Virtual Join with array

hello,

create a Java Script to push all the values into a $L_test variable.

call this js from the link record using the JS call

assign the thread variable to the target field and

map the source to the target field.

Re: Question regarding Virtual Join with array

Thank you for the suggestions. I am new to javascript, and trying to figure how to push values and where to keep this script. Initially, I was thinking of adding to a format control, so anytime, the field is updated, it is pushed to the javascript array.

Is there a link you can recommend to create a javascript array?

Re: Question regarding Virtual Join with array

Hi Vadim,

You are correct. In the change record, all the items the user entered is saved, however when displaying using the virtual join, only the first row shows up.

I am attaching the screenshot of the change record. In the task, all I see is the first row.
