Limit operator rights

Hi all,

I have to restrict rights to modify CI's (type=application) so only two person can upate them. I tried in format control, but it doesn't work. Can anyone help me.

Don't you try use 'Capability words' ?

I made a new profile, i put restriction on type=application.It is resollved 98%. It still ask the user if he whats to save tha modification, even he doaes't have SAVE button.

May be you need make read only that field wich that user can modify.

It is not one field that I what to make uneditable. You said something about capability words....

You must create some 'capability words'(CW) and set it to operator (wich can edit field on form)

- For example name of CW is 'EditCI_1'
- Then set in Format Control for initialization expression
$EditCI=false;if (index("EditCI_1", $lo.ucapex)>0) then ($EditCI=true)
- And finaly set in Form Designer condition for READ only in field like:
[$EditCI]="false", copy this condition to all necessary fields.

I have created capability words. I modified FC (device- it is ok?) and FD(configurationItem.g).

It doesn't work:((. And I follow the procedure you wrote. It still let the operator to modify field.

Try in FD use [$EditCI]<>"true" in 'Condition read only' for field.

If still will not work, then attach screenshots of all what you did (FC, FD, CW in operator)
