Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Hi Vadim,

AD is integrated with SM but I do not see falcon being used there in  'LDAP MAPPING'.Also we are using CIT for contacts and Operators

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

You don't mention your SM version, but there were some releases where this message appeared even when no login attempts were made which failed. I don't believe it affects any recent patch versions.

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

When using LDAP as primary data source the system will query the LDAP data first then if no operator record is found the system will query SM. Because there is an operator record in SM the system will allow log in.

When the user logs in after the operator record has been deleted, if the operator is not removed from the global list of operators, then LDAP is not queried for the record, instead just the internal operator file is queried, but this operator has now been removed from the system.

To correct this, the global list would need to be rebuilt before the user attempted another login.

The LDAP configuration should else be examined to ensure that the required actions are performed based on the parameters set.

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

But LDAP has no issue neither any operator record is deleted.I just changed the password for falcon since it was blank for long time.

falcon can login succesfully but each time it shows message post login. Not sure from where it is trying.

Did you mean if we have any user created in Active Directory as falcon ???

Thanks

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Sorry, I messed it up - I thought you deleted falcon and then recreated it.

OK, now when this is clear I would like to know if the issue you describe happens in web client?

Because if so this can easily be corrected, when changing the password in calendar.properties in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\calendar\WEB-INF\classes.

Hope this will help!

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Try changing the new falcon password in 'calendar.properties' in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps\calendar\WEB-INF\classes.

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Hi,

Can you try the following:

1. Go to Database Manager
2. Access the file 'datadict'
3. Search for and access the environment datadict record
4. Scroll down until you find the field: km.smpassword
5. Look to see if Encrypted is set to true. If so, set it so the field is blank (i.e. NOTHING in it)
6. Save the file

then

7.  Go to the KM Environment record
8. Look at the webservices user
9. Go to the operator file and look for the user that is specified as the webservices user
10. Ensure that the user has a minimum of 15 logins (NOT SESSIONS! LOGINS)
11. Save

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Hi,

From operator record for falcon -> Security tab-> on the right you will see "User session information" and "Max Logins" field

You can either specify a number in this field or check "Unlimited Sessions". This should work fine :-)

Regards!

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Goto System Administration, Base System COnfiguration, Miscellaneous, System Information Record, Click on Active Integrations tab and see if you have any other integration using Falcon id that you are unaware of.

Or do a netstats -an and check the communication ports and see if there is any unfamiliar port number which could help identify an integration as well.

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

I would suggest to perform sm -unlockdatabase command. You need to stop the services so you may try this on the next schedule maintenance for example.

Steps:

1./stop SM services

2./from command line navigate to the RUN directory

3./write the following command: sm -unlockdatabase

NOTE! This will release any locks/hanged processes, etc on the db level.

Risk: Minor

4./start SM services

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Do you use any other HP products ? If yes, check their integrations. Do you allow other apps to interface with SM via webservies ? Ahh..do you use Crystal Reports ? Check the odbc driver connections as falcon is used there as well.

Re: Invalid Login Attempts x times since your last login

Tried unlocking today when I opened it has 90 invalid attempts.

Yes there are other HP products , but the integration is not functional and where do I check if falcon is being used in SM for other integrations?
