HPSM License Issue



I just want to ask a question, do I need an additional license in case of building up a test environment for the service manager?


because when I tried to clone the existing application instance to a different test server, it said "Failed validating license. Terminating the process."


could you please advise?

Your Service Manager production license is valid only for your production system (and is tied to the Prod IP).


An active support contract gives you entitlement for additional license codes for Dev, Test, Disaster Recovery, and traning systems (it ends up being 5 or 6 environments), but you need to request each license from HP and each license it IP-Specific (e.g. you must provide the IP of the Dev server to get the dev license). The dev/test licenses may not be for the same user count as your production license and are renewed annually.
