Running on Linux 2.6.18-308.el5
Knowlege Management setup and running properly. However, all KM Documents that have Microsoft Office Attachments when accessed via the Web Client with Internet Explorer prompt user the document is zipped and ONLY provide option to Save rather than Open. See attached images. This behavior only occurs with Microsoft Office documents. PDF, JPG, and other file attachments Open directly.
Also, the same KM Document when accessed via FireFox Opens the Microsoft Office attachments immediately and does not prompt that document is zipped file and to Save rather than Open.
Are there settings within the Apache Web Tier or elsewhere that control this behavior for users accessing KM with Internet Explorer?

There are certain attachment types that are supported in SM 9.30 - the supported attachments are listed in this SSO article:
There are some known issues, related specifically to MS Office types of attachments - and for some previous SM versions, Microsoft Office 2007 documents (with file extensions that end in "x", such as docx and xslx) cwere not supported and could not be indexed.
So if the attachment type does not exist in the above mentioned list, it is not supported.

Is there any way you could post that PDF here? My HP SM login does not have access to that section of the OpenView website.

Sure! In fact the types below are just a part of the supported attachments. More information on this you could find in the table called “kmmimetypes” - just go to SM command prompt, enter DB and give input as “kmmimetypes”, and you will see around 1272 document types supported.
