Closing user session --- urgent question

I need help with closing user session.

I know that inactivity time is set here: System Administration-Current maintenance-System-Inactivity timer. We have set 30 min. And after 30 minutes of inactivity user session is closed. But sometimes working in  the system  users are thrown out of the SM.  And user can not log in the system during a period of time, an error "Autorization failed..." appears.  This occurs because this user  is still in System Status table as active user, and he will be able to log in only when inactivity time reaches 30 minutes.

How can I close connection after user has been thrown out of the system?? ...system does not understand this fact as disconnection....

thnk you for your help!!!

Re: Closing user session --- urgent question

HI,

You have to execute 'k' command to kill the session.
type k in command column against the user session row and click execute.
In sm7.0x it does not work.

Re: Closing user session --- urgent question

Why dont you up the number of Sessions a user is allowed to say 3 or 4?

The old threads will drop out when they reach the inactivity period

Re: Closing user session --- urgent question

No there is thread where user can be leveraged to kill sessions and this requires tailoring in SM.
http://www.sc-resources.net/content/134-Kill-User-Sessions-without-being-SysAdmin

Better increase the allowed sessions as per alex or reduce the heartbeat interval.
