HP Security Research ZDI program receives 2013 Global Frost & Sullivan “Company of the Year” Award

For the 4th consecutive year, HP has once again been recognized for setting the industry benchmark among security
research organizations. According to Frost & Sullivan, when it comes to vulnerability research, the HP Security Research Zero Day Initiative (ZDI) program was responsible for reporting more vulns than any other vendor in 2013.

Consistent quality? Yes, we’ve got that down pat—but network security isn’t simple! As we continue to barrel into 2014, the security landscape is ever-changing. The ZDI has knocked it out of the park with the sheer number of vulns found and submitted to vendors in 2013: Out of the 426 critical- or high-severity vulns found, ZDI was responsible for 222 of them! The rest of the industry picked up the slack by finding 206. Each year, we’re doubling the number of vulns we submit, and we don’t plan on stopping!

So what does all this mean for our TippingPoint customers? It boils down to 4 words:

We’ve got you covered.

Thanks to the incredible research of our team, our TippingPoint customers are PROACTIVELY protected—in some instances, up to 43 days before the vendor even patches their software! Now THAT’s customer service! Our protection lifecycle keeps us ahead of the bad guys—we cut them off before they have time to get to you and your data.

So how do we do it? With our powerful team—comprised of nearly 3,000 independent and in-house security researchers. According to Frost & Sullivan, we’re building an international research culture— and that’s our plan. We are appreciative of every single one of those 3,000 researchers; we couldn’t reach these numbers without the hard work of this team.

We’re pleased that Frost & Sullivan has chosen us for this distinctive award. And as we head into ZDI’s 10th anniversary, you’ll be seeing some innovative and interesting new work coming from our entire HP Security Research team. Keep watching—we’re ready to deliver security.
