Re: TRIM environment

The TRIM Enterprise Studio or TES is the interface that manages the "back end" of TRIM\RM.

In the TES console you can manage your Workgroup Servers, Datasets, licenses, email server configs etc.

You only need to install one instance of the TES usually on your primary WGS.

Hope this helps.

Re: TRIM environment

In case you can't see where the 'TES' is installed on your server (normally there is just a shortcut in the start menu), then you possibly didn't select to install it during the installation wizard.

If you run a repair/modify on the TRIM install, you should see the TRIM Enterprise Studio as a selectable module.

Re: TRIM environment

Hello again, Jyo.

TRIM/RM8 installation can be a little tricky to get right, so I would highly recommend that you have a test environment in which to play in first.

In addition, knowing that you are new to this (related topic) it might also be beneficial for you / your organisation to request the consulting services of an RM8 expert for the initiial stages - just to make sure you are on the right path...

I'm just putting it out there for you to consider, Jyo...

Re: TRIM environment

Agreed with emTRIM.
TRIM/RM8 is too big and complicated to just start using with no training or prior experience.

I would definitely recommend contacting your local TRIM business partners or HP for training. :)

Re: TRIM environment

Hi Grundy

That was helpful
But unfortunately I couldn't find that component in the start menu also.
I was wondering if that component comes with the trial version
please clarify...

Re: TRIM environment

Yes, the TRIM Enterprise Studio / Records Manager Enterprise Studio is a core part of the product and will exist in your trial version.

If you can't get the TES installed, I would really push to get some training as you'll just run into more and more issues past that point too.

Re: TRIM environment

The Enterprise Studio is a server side module, you are only listing the client side modules there.

If you have a test server and run the Setup_x64.exe on the RM8 iso, make sure you tick the 'Workgroup Server' module and follow the prompts through.  I can't remember if the Enterprise Studio is specifically listed or not.
