LoadRunner 11.50 launch!

On Wednesday June 28th, Silvia Siqueira announced the General Availability (GA) release of HP LoadRunner 11.50 and HP Performance Center 11.50. With that announcement, comes the completion of:

  • Over 1 year of planning
  • 2 years of development over 35 iterations
  • 1839 User stories developed and tested
  • 3354 Quality Assurance tests
  • 8445 Load Test executions
  • 4542 Defects fixed

We’re very proud of this release and what it represents to you, our user community. LoadRunner 11.50 is the first major rewrite of the Virtual User Generator (VuGen) application that is core to the LoadRunner experience, and brings a host of new features such as the Correlation Studio, Step Navigator and customizable User Interface layout. The latest version offers unmatched flexibility through the easy to use UI-level protocols such as Ajax TruClient, and powerful transport layer protocols including the popular Web/HTTP which now supports Async behavior as well as inline JavaScript execution. We have also included such often requested features as support for recording 64-bit applications, IPv6 and TruClient for Internet Explorer 9.

Perhaps more important than the many individual enhancements in this release, the completely redesigned VuGen opens up the door for new innovations and greater extensibility for both HP and our tens of thousands of users worldwide; and that’s exciting.

An overview of the changes can be found online, and a complete listing of all of the enhancements found in LoadRunner 11.50 can be found in the readme file included with the installation.

Updating your license key:

It is important to note that customers who purchased LoadRunner prior to the launch of 11.0 in November 2010 will need their contract migrated to the latest product structure in order to obtain a license for LoadRunner 11.50. This migration is part of the first ever obsolescence program for versions 8.x and 9.x of HP LoadRunner and HP Performance Center, and will enable us to better support our customers by focusing on only the latest versions of these products. This will also bring customers to a simplified license structure that is more flexible and easier to understand. For more information regarding this program, visit http://support.openview.hp.com/encore/loadrunner_9-x.jsp or contact your HP Software Sales representative.

It has been an exciting launch for HP Software, from the very successful Beta program that included over 150 customers worldwide, to the announcement at HP Discover in Las Vegas. We hope you will find this release more powerful, easier to use and more flexible than any other performance validation software product available.

Thank you for choosing HP.

Sincerely,
