Discover how HP Service Virtualization drove Darden’s business success

At HP Discover Las Vegas, you’ll have 35,000 square feet of the latest innovations in IT to explore and countless opportunities to meet with HP Experts and industry peers. We know you’ll be busy, but be sure not to forget about our Discover Theater Session on June 12: “HP Service Virtualization Enables Darden’s Business Success.

Darden Concepts Inc. is the world’s largest full-service restaurant company and multi-brand restaurant operator. They use innovative information systems that network all of their restaurants, including LongHorn Steakhouse, The Olive Garden, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood, The Yard House and many others. Darden’s distributed service-oriented architecture allows for each brand and location to operate independently, yet share information and systems to drive efficiency and added customer value.

Everything from inventory to online orders to credit card authorizations is handled by a topology of Web services. When these systems fail, it not only affects restaurant operations at each location, but can also severely impact customer satisfaction. Therefore, successful business operations depend on testing this complex network of Web services.

In this session, led by Howard Jessee, Senior Systems Engineer at Darden and Jon Spencer, Orasi’s Director of Professional Services, you’ll learn why Darden sought help from HP Service Virtualization (HPSV) over its competitors. You’ll get an in-depth look at the challenges Darden faced, and the solutions HPSV brought to the table, such as how HPSV was used to effectively isolate and test components of the restaurant’s systems, without having to provide all the Web services in a test environment.

Darden’s team members were familiar with existing HP products, and HPSV seamlessly integrated with the current tool set to enable:
