Hi,
I have a customer with 3 nodes in the same cluster, on the same location.
What are best pratices when inserting a 4th node? Should I use all of them as managers and put up a failover manager.
Or should I just use 3 as managers ?
What are pros and cons?
Greetings,

Hi,
you should use 4 physical + FOM = 5 managers...
2 Nodes can fail (e.g. seperatet in 2 locations).
I don't think using 3 physical + FOM is supportet because it should be an odd number of managers...
But when you add the node, the best practice analyser will tell you what to do :)

Hi,
Indeed a FOM is only possible and supported with 2 or 4 nodes... In the other cases you cannot add a FOM inthe cluster...
And you need in normal conditions 3 or 5 managers...

I would use 3 managers if these are in one site.
5 Managers are awfully chatty and really dont provide much more of a benifit.
