New SPP Supplement for VMware has been released

The long-awaited VMware 5.0/5.1/5.5 Supplement for SPP 2013.09.0 (B) has been published and is becoming available HP-wide as it replicates across internal systems along with its related documentation including Release Notes.  It is downloadable from  (www.hp.com/go/spp/download) as well as at the HP Support Center (HP SC) and packaged with HP SUM 6.0.1.

For customer convenience and a better user experience, this release contains the new online firmware smart components for VMware ESXi 5.0, VMware vSphere 5.1, and VMware vSphere 5.5 and contains the following:

  • Converged Network Adapters (Emulex contains 5.0/5.1 only)
  • FlexFabric Adapters
  • Fibre Channel Controllers
  • Integrated Lights-Out (iLO) 3 and 4
  • Network Interface Controllers
  • System ROMs for HP ProLiant G7 and Gen 8 servers
  • HP ProLiant G7 and Gen 8 server hard disk drives
  • HP Smart Array controllers
  • Storage Backplane Expanders
  • Smart Array Controllers
  • SATA drives connected through Smart Array

Having all of these VMware-based smart components packaged together as an OS SPP Supplement allows a much better user experience.  This approach is a one-time occurrence since the next full SPP will contain all the contents of this VMware Supplement.    For more information, please see the following websites:
