HP – VMware Newsletter: VMworld US 2010 Wrap-Up

VMworld US 2010 Wrap-Up

VMworld US 2010 was a smashing success, easily living up to its billing as the "must attend virtualization event of the year!

Centered around a theme of "Virtual Roads - Actual Clouds", VMworld 2010 drew over 17,000 attendees to Moscone Center in San Francisco to experience more than 170 unique Breakout Sessions and 30 Lab topics offered across four days. Naturally, the event wouldn't have been nearly as successful as it was without the participation of HP. As a Global Platinum sponsor, HP was all about cloud computing this year in addition to several cloud-based announcements. HP was well represented with over 10 breakout sessions which ranged from topics such as simplifying scale-out storage infrastructure to desktop virtualization, the next big thing. In addition to the well attended HP sessions, over 300 people including our joint executive teams and top joint customers attended the customer and partner appreciation parties.

Let's take a look at some of the HP | VMware VMworld US 2010 Highlights:

HP and VMware issued a joint press release highlighting the strengthened collaboration across our portfolios, specifically acceleration to cloud computing models with the introduction of VMware vCloudTM Director with the HP BladeSystem Matrix and HP Cloud Maps.

Mark Potter, SVP of ISS from HP, Steve Herrod CTO from VMware and customer Greg Bybee from Carnegie Mellon University joined forces during HP's keynote session to talk about the two companies long history of collaboration, joint vision and how HP and VMware are helping customers make cloud computing a reality today.

HPs Cloud Advisory Panel took time out to discuss cloud computing trends and provide insight into varying cloud technologies and deployment models: Click here.

As the vibrancy of the conference amply demonstrated, these are exciting days for virtualization and cloud computing - VMware and HP continue to develop and deliver tightly integrated solutions for the datacenter, desktop and cloud computing space to help customers stay ahead of the game, focus on innovation and drive results.

Thank you again to everyone for their participation and for a job well done – we couldn't have done it without you!

Best regards,
Michael Bartzel, HP Alliance Director
