Information Governance: Newest Version of Autonomy Supervisor Released

We’re pleased to announce that a new version of Autonomy Supervisor is now available.  Autonomy Supervisor 7.1.7 is a key component of HP Autonomy’s Information Governance market offering and represents a significant step forward in our ability to help our customers manage the risk and cost associated with electronic communications compliance.

Autonomy Supervisor 7.1.7 automates the scanning of any electronic interaction using a customizable risk and policy-based sampling methodology to perform supervision in search of regulatory, compliance, or business risk and issues. Supervision may be performed either before or after communications have left the organization. Autonomy Supervisor also allows you to perform ad hoc searching and investigatory surveillance of your electronic communications for urgent, event-driven issues. Identified risks are routed through customizable workflows for legal and compliance officer review and action.

The world’s largest and most respected legal and compliance departments depend on our solution to scan electronic communications, as part of FINRA, SEC, FSA, MAS, FDA and FCPA requirements, to detect anything from the passing of material non-public information to the existence of a potential customer complaint, to costly legal and reputational risks such as sexual harassment, collusion, or bribery.

The ability to effectively control these types of risks is the reason why Autonomy Supervisor is the industry standard for communications compliance. No other vendor has the expertise and filtering tools to detect over 80 areas of risk, ‘out-of-the box’, with the added ability to create custom risk filters using a self-service ‘drag and drop’ interface. One only needs to see the actual emails exchanged by the LIBOR price-fixing traders to see the value of having these types of risk filters in place. Hundreds of millions of dollars (and British Pounds and Swiss Francs) were paid as part of the LIBOR settlement. One CEO even lost his job.

Additionally, Supervisor is now the only application allowing compliance officers to perform their own electronic discovery of supervised content stored in the archive, thereby providing access to all relevant messages, whether they were captured by Autonomy Supervisor or not.

Autonomy Supervisor 7.1.7 reduces the time and cost of supervision while enhancing your ability to watch out for urgent issues. Specifically, it allows compliance officers to automatically bypass approved marketing material or documents from supervision by bulk or single uploads to self-service document libraries. Additionally, Supervisor now allows for the ability to target risks in different message segments of electronic communications including attachments. The benefit is reduced processing and review costs since low-risk documents are no longer triggered. The 7.1.7 release also allows for appropriately permissioned users to search the archive directly through the interface. Considered a task that was once outsourced to the ‘eDiscovery team’, Autonomy Supervisor now allows compliance officers to perform their own investigations against archived content not stored in the supervision system – all with appropriate access controls to target only relevant content.

As a leader in the Supervision and Surveillance market, HP Autonomy’s solutions have proven themselves superior to many of the largest and most demanding companies in the world.  The further development of Autonomy Supervisor over a significant period of time reinforces HP Autonomy’s lead in the market.
