Information Governance: HP Autonomy Named an Information Archiving Market Leader

The steady stream of big news for HP Autonomy’s Information Governance portfolio of offerings has reached a new high mark. Gartner Research published the 2013 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Information Archiving this week, and HP Autonomy was placed in the Leader’s Quadrant, further solidifying our position as a market-leading archiving vendor.

This news follows a series of 2013 announcements that cement HP Autonomy’s place as the industry’s top Information Governance provider.  In addition to our market leadership position in information archiving, we also announced this year that we were named a market leader in Gartner’s eDiscovery Magic Quadrant and Forrester’s ECM WAVE – placing us in a top spot for all three markets that are most commonly associated with Information Governance.  Not a single other vendor – not IBM, EMC, Symantec, Microsoft, Oracle, or Google – can claim a market leader position in all three reports.

Broad archiving strengths

One of HP Autonomy’s top strengths identified by Gartner in the latest Magic Quadrant was the following: “Autonomy's capabilities and vision for information governance encompass a broad set of functional components, including archiving across multiple content types.”

Several other important aspects of our offering were also highlighted in the report as well.  Readers will note Gartner comments about our automated policy management enhancements, supervision and surveillance capabilities, search and analysis functionality, scalability, and simplified pricing and improving customer satisfaction – all positive indicators for future growth.

A turnaround story

Perhaps what we are most proud of in this latest report is that Gartner states “the past year has been a study in turnarounds” for HP Autonomy.  This sentiment is quite similar to what ITBusinessEdge reported in a late-October article titled “HP Hits the Autonomy Comeback Trail .”  Indeed, HP Autonomy has made incredible strides in the past year.  We continue to innovate, have enhanced our delivery, and are now leveraging the broader HP megaphone as we become more integrated into the HP business.  But likely the most important measure of our turnaround is the success of our customers and their increasing satisfaction with our offerings. That is why globally respected brands like Morgan Stanley are willing to publicly share their success stories on our behalf.

Congratulations to all my HP Autonomy teammates.  The continued execution of our strategy, and regular cadence of good news, is yet again an accomplishment worth celebrating.
