Data Protection: Podcasting with the "Unicorn"

While attending VMworld 2013 in San Francisco, I had the great opportunity to join into a @SpeakingInTech Podcast with my friend and fellow technology expert Greg Knierieman (aka the “Unicorn”).  Our discussion was a lively one around the future of server virtualization, cloud, and how customers are starting to embrace the vision of “software defined data center” (check out my previous postor SDDC.

I specifically talked about how HP is supporting all three themes in our recent release of our LiveVault product, which brings intelligent, highly integrated hybrid VM cloud backup to market.  With this release we are enabling enterprise VMware backup/recovery in the cloud.  We achieved this milestone by porting our enterprise VADP integration from Data Protector inside the LiveVault service (which is a SaaS-based backup/recovery offering).   This means that customers gain the same level of integration and flexibility that they have on-premise as well as in the cloud.
