Re: How to re-install HPA IDE?

[ Edited ]

Before installing new version of HPA IDE, the previous version of HPA (Server or IDE) should be properly uninstalled. If you encounter a problem during IDE installation (for example the installer does not prompt for the installation file path), the reason could be due to incorrect un-installation of the previous HPA (Server or IDE) version.

In case of problems during HPA IDE installation, perform the following steps:

  1. Uninstall HPA by running C:\HP\HPAnywhere\Uninstall\HP_Anywhere\setup.exe
  2. Delete BTOA_HOME environment  variable
  3. Run C:\HP\HPAnywhere\scripts\uninstallAnywhereService.bat to delete HP Anywhere service
  4. In case folder C:\HP\HPAnywhere exists after uninstall, remove it manually
  5. Install and run MSI Cleanup utility. Remove any uninstalled entries, connected to HPAnywhere.
  6. Run regedit and delete the registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Hewlett-Packard\HPAnywhere
  7. Delete all files named HP_Anywhere_10.00*.* from %TEMP% folder
  8. Make sure that prior to the installation of the new version, the environment variable JAVA_HOME is either undefined or points to the JDK 1.7
  9. Install the new version, make sure that the installation folder path is asked from the user (use C:\HP\HPAnywhere)
