It would be a great help if you could select multiple items from a list using the Ctrl or Shift keys. The current experience of clicking on each item is very tedious.

This would apply anywhere in the application where multiple items can be selected to perform an action upon, such as 'Planning', 'Set Feature', 'Set Application', 'More Actions'.

Thanks for the clarification.
So if I understand correctly, you need the ability to select multiple items and do a mass update.
This functionality is already available.
You should check multiple items and update them all.
e.g. set feature/application for all of them at once.
Hope this answers your question.
Please let me know if it doesn't.

I understand that the feature is there to apply updates to multiple items, but my comment was on the selection of multiple items.
"It would be a great help if you could select multiple items from a list using the Ctrl or Shift keys. The current experience of clicking on each item is very tedious."
I would like to click on the first item in the list I want to select and while holding the Shift key select the last item on the list I want to select and all the items between the first selected and last selected would be selected. Please disregard my comment on the Ctrl key as it does not apply - that capability is already there.
Also if I apply a filter to the list and would like to select all items in the filtered view, a "Select All" feature would be great.

Both the option to multi-select by using the Shift (for bulk) and Ctrl for specific items, exist.
Make sure you are not clicking on the checkboxes but on any other place on the item's row while using these options.
Regrading the 'Select All' from backlog grids, we will add it to our backlog.
Thanks for your feedback,
