An odd strategy - Are 'they' hiding something ?

Wheres the beef.jpgAt times in the technology industry, you run across something that causes you to take notice, and even do a double-take. Sometimes a positive event makes you take a second look. Sometimes you want to look again at something negative. But then, there are those times where the absence of something critical, makes you take a second look.

This was exactly what happened to me at a recent Cloud Management event. After spending time on reviewing my notes from VMworld 2013, I realized something was missing. I was left to ask—where’s the beef?

Join me now as we explore this further. Let me know if I stand corrected on my findings, or if what was uncovered is at best odd—if not outright strange.

VMworld 2013 San Francisco. What a week!

We saw an encore performance of VMware’s Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) from 2012, coupled with automation integrated and hybrid cloud management for 2013.

VMware is taking steps toward recognizing that Enterprise IT needs a holistic view of automation and the management of services for cloud, and that users are demanding more than just VM provisioning today. Like a proud father would be, looking down at his baby in its crib, I am simply heartened to see VMware's SDDC vision finally coming together.

Let’s now look back at the week in perspective, to see what else was announced.
