I have a long history with VMware simply because most of our clients that have adopted automation, orchestration and cloud usually have a small foot print of VMware products. In most adoptions clients’ need to increase response times, address new business opportunities, reduce costs and mitigate risk or avoid the loss of control (e.g.. Shadow IT).


These are themes that weigh heavily on our clients’ minds today.  We all know that VMware will be key in these customer themes, so let’s take a minute now to look into my crystal ball, to see if we can predict the future as we start this week’s VMworld in San Francisco.

A long day’s night

My teenage daughter Margaret is currently very into “The Beatles” music at the moment and both the song “A long day’s night” and the reason behind the song were playing on my mind during my trip from Houston, Texas to Sydney, Australia recently. For any of you that have made that trip, you will know it to be a very long 14 hour flight (LA to Sydney) and it’s a day that you spend mostly in the night, because of all the different times zone you are flying through.
