Running Konect Elite on HP Public Cloud in under 10 Steps

Last week, I posted a new Podcast with Kane Micheletti, VP Sales & Marketing for desktopsites, talking about our new partnership around their Konect Elite solution for Cloud. In this dog food blog, I show you how to enable the solution on HP Public Cloud.

To get started, I simply went to the desktopsites HP Cloud page to get the 10 Step Deployment Guide as well as get more information on the joint solution. From there I completed these steps (I already have an HP Public Cloud account; if you need one please visit our site):

1)      Login to the HP Public Cloud and Select an Activated Compute Region

2)      Create New Security Group for Konect Virtual Image

3)      Create a New Image with the Konect Pre-Defined Image and New Security Group from Step #2

NOTE! Please remember to setup the External Floating IP for this Instance (See Previous Blog)

4)      Connect to your Virtual Image via Remote Desktop Protocol

The IP Address for connection is the External Floating IP set in Step #3. Please use this username/password:

Username: Administrator
Password: P@ssw0rd

5) Launch the KMC application shortcut which takes you to the Admin Panel.  You will configure the Remote Access feature in “KMC->Setup->Remote Access”.

a)      Select Browse and add the Gateway Server

b)      Enter the External IP Address

c)       Select Apply in the action pane on the right hand side & click Yes

d)      When this step is complete, you will have the Konect System ready for Client Access

The Konect Client on your desktop will run and create two new application shortcuts on your screen: Notepad_Konect and Wordpad_Konect
