As they are every week, our bloggers and editors were busy talking up cloud.  Here’s a recap of the most recent blog posts and articles:

Whatever you call it, the cloud is just plain good business.  Lisa Wolfe, worldwide SMB Marketing and Strategy Manager for HP, talks to SMBs about the benefits of cloud computing, whether you call it cloud, Software as a Service, SaaS or whatever.

Ryan Reed, of Enterprise Services agrees with Lisa. There are as many ways to describe cloud as there are people talking about it. Ryan offers cloud definitions from NIST, Gartner and HP in his first post, Cloud—what is it?” Read and then tell us how you describe cloud.

What does bowling have to do with cloud computing?  More than you might think.  Find out in Judy Redman’s post that compares the history of the pinsetter with automation in the cloud

Prolific blogger Charlie Bess delves into and disagrees a bit with a recent PCWorld article titled “SaaS won’t succeed with some apps.”  See if you agree with Charlie’s view on the four broad sectors of software that PCWorld says are considered SaaS obstacles.

Cloud technology is here to stay according to CIO.com research. Find out what other companies are spending on cloud, what they consider to be the biggest obstacles and other details on the 2011 CIO Cloud Survey.

What does it take to build a better cloud? Start with storage that’s efficient, agile and self-optimized, secure and multi-tenant. This new article details the how’s and why’s behind these recommendations plus an overview of the HP 3PAR storage portfolio.

Until next time, see you around the HP Cloud.
