Are clouds capable of supporting the Internet of Things?

The global dominance of the smartphone in the mobile market is revolutionizing the network and telecommunication industry to meet the data-hungry demands of those devices; however this is just the first stage in the coming wave of products with sensors creating the Internet of Things. The impact on the infrastructure necessary to support this advancement is not well defined and is at the leading edge of the cloud technology paradigm shift.

A panel of thought leaders working directly on this problem is meeting next week in Hawaii at the Pacific Telecommunications Council Conference providing insight into where the cloud industry is heading to meet these challenges.

The session is Monday January 20, 2014 at 11:40am called Technology Developments. The discussion will receive social media promotion via Twitter at #PTC14 and on @hpcloud during the session. Videos of the talk will be made available after the conference.
