Who is Andy, and did he remember?

$ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT F$GETSYI("HW_NAME")
HP BL860c i2  (1.73GHz/6.0MB)
$ WRITE SYS$OUTPUT F$GETSYI("VERSION")
V8.4

$ EXIT 199608
%DCL-W-REMINDER, Andy, remember to turn off the lights when you leave...

I have one, but it's personal.

Re: Who is Andy, and did he remember?

My first guess would be Andy Goldstein, but hopefully others can confirm this.

There are a number of these types of "error" messages still in the code.  Have fun finding them...

Re: Who is Andy, and did he remember?

The lights have been turned off in ZKO (Nashua, NH) about 7 years ago.

Re: Who is Andy, and did he remember?

Definitely Andy Goldstein.

Btw. it's really error 3000:

exit 3000

%SYSTEM-W-REMINDER, Andy, remember to turn off the lights when you leave...

Re: Who is Andy, and did he remember?

This thread makes me sad, for three reasons:

1)  It reminds me that ZKO is gone

2)  That there are people who don't immediately associate VMS and names like "Andy" with people like Andy Goldstein

3)  My V8.3 installation returns the wrong thing

$ exit 3000

Feeling nostalgic,

Re: Who is Andy, and did he remember?

I miss my VMS servers and my pointy hat I once had.

It's AIX now. It's not the same.
