Tape Interrogation

Can anyone tell me if there is a way of interrogating a tape device to see what is currently stored on that particular tape.

We are cutrrently on OS MPE/iX 6 running on a 968RX. We use DAT drives (Dev 7&8).

Thanx for any help given.

Re: Tape Interrogation

FILE T;DEV=7
RESTORE *T;@.@.@;LISTDIR;SHOW

Run this as a job to put the listing into a spoolfile or use
FILE SYSLIST;DEV=LP
to send it to a printer

Re: Tape Interrogation

Selwyn,

in addition to what paul has already indicated, if you need to see HFS directories, just add ;DIRECTORY
to the restore statement. For clarification of the :restore options, I suggest using the on-line help
utility...

:HELP RESTORE,PARMS
