Authorise client displays on OpenVMS v7.1-2 with DECWindows Motif v1.2

Hi,

I have an OpenVMS v7.1-2 Alpha with DECwindows Motif that I want to be able to access from an X-Windows emulator on a PC and start a DECterm session.

The x-windows emulator connects to the OpenVMS system, tries to issue an xauth command, then does a Set DISPLAY/CREATE. The commands fails with "client not authorized to connect to this display". I need to do an xhosts+ or xauth equivalent, but these do not appear to be supported by DECwindows Motif v1.2. How can I authorise these hosts?

If anybody can assist it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Andrew

It's really up to your emulator (and your local firewall) what incoming connections it allows. Read the documentation of what emulator you want to use; you are probably stuck with host based authentication (without SSH), which is fairly awful.
