Bill Veghte reviewed HP IT Performance Suite and put HP Executive Scorecard on top

Bill Veghte, HP’s Chief Operating Officer, reviewed the HP IT Performance Suite in his keynote address this morning on the last day of HP Discover Vegas 2012. He shared specifically how the HP Executive Scorecard sits on the top of the solutions offering and is effectively the starting and ending point for customers to see, understand, and act. He went onto say that HP had listened to its customers when a year ago it came up with 170 KPIs that drive improved IT performance. Bill said that Executive Scorecard has now realized the most important 135 of these KPIs out of the box. He, also ran a video where United Airlines showed their  implementation of Executive Scorecard and discussed how it helps them better manage IT and communicate IT’s value. Put simply, Bill showed how Executive Scorecard is the lynchpin forbeing able to run faster, operate more simply, secure proactively, store efficiently, and analyze in real time. Bill ended with an integrative demonstration to make his point.

The demo showed how HP Executive Scorecard could be used to note a trended change in performance. From there, Executive Scorecard drilled down into the tools below and showed who was accountable to make fixes. The demo showed how an IT leader could note unexpected performance deviations and quickly get to the root of the problem. In the demo, BSM analysis showed that there was a repeated need for increased capacity. Further analysis showed that this capacity need was in fact a security issue. Once the resulting security issue was resolved, the scorecard can be used to show the resulting changes in performance, with demand being driven back to expectation.
