"I believe the issue is going to be resolved in the next release of DSS, which will be sometime in June. I still have your case open and will provide DSS when it is released."
So it sounds like they're planning to throw us a bone next month. Here's hoping it solves the problem, because I'm not planning to roll back SP1.

"Yes, the next release of DSS will resolve the issue with SP1. I believe we are still looking at mid to late June for the release of the software."
So, there you have it.

Hi. I called HP today with a similar question because I get a 1920 error on a server 3004 box, just like everyone is seeing on 2008. They said they would have a new version out at the end of this month that will fix the issue.

HP called me regarding a case I had open with this issue and sent me a link to a temp ftp site they have with the new DSS version. It said the service could not start, but when I clicked "retry", a bunch of scripts were run and the install finished. However, now when I try to start the service, I get a 1067 error. At least it's not the 1920 lol. I'll do a bit more checking to try and see if I can get it working. The new version is officially being released next week from what HP told me.

Just last week HP released DSS 4.91.21 which works on Win Svr 2008 R2 SP1. Also, this release will enable WJA and DSS to co-exist on the same server. Go to hp.com/go/dss and click on the link for the free 60-day demo to get the bits.

Any updates on this? I saw from the demo link that the software was taken down again.
Also what is usually a good link to the full version? Or if I allready have a full version,do I use the demo to upgrade?
And a working DL Link ? Anyone?
The HP site is so needlessly chaotic I can never find what i need.

It's nearly December and still no release.
This is what happens when you sack the people who make your products so the board can take home a bonus.

HP finally came up with a revised release plan for 4.9. As per now they provide an interim version of 4.2 with support for 64-bit OSs, which is in fact downloadable. And they announce that 4.9 will be available in October 2012.
Here's the relevant document: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&
But as others have mentioned before in this thread, "we believe it when we see it".
I for one will stay with the current beta (4.91.23), which runs ok except for bug with fax notifications.

I have still got the huge problem with printing on 4.91.23 (see my post from nearly a year ago)
Yes the fax notification thing also but it is minor. The printing problem is not.
I just put a DS onto 4.25 and the printing works fine. With 4.91 it's a disaster.
Has anyone else got the issue and any idea what to do??? 4.91 works much better in almost every other way, but this printing problem is a real killer.

HP has released 4.25.32 a stable version when compared to 4.91. It is build on the same code base as 4.x. Download it from hp.com/go/dss. It is not supported on Win 7 & Vista.

I just cannot wait to install the Service Pack on my server without crashign DSS. Possible with 4.25? Or better to keep chuggin on this 4.91 version I still use and which has been stable otherwise for me, and wait for the re-release?

October has come and gone, so has November. And still no release of 4.91. This is beyond ridiculous HP. Why don't you come forward and admit it will never happen?
Maybe they should be nominated for the Vaporware Award.
