I applied the latest firmware, and now our Autostore software will not install.
Notable Solutions tech support states that the 48.031.3 firmware is unsupported, and that I need to rollback to a previous version.
No problem. I would love too. However, I do not have a copy of an earlier version.
I just spent 2 hours on the phone with HP tech support, and the end result of that is, "We do not have earlier versions of the firmware available. We can call you when that status changes, but we have no idea when that could be."
That's not going to help me. I've got to get this firmware downgraded so I can get this device rolled out. Does anyone have any copies of previous firmwares handy?

I've uploaded the previous firmware for you on this link:
Please note that it will automatically expire after 20 days from now

I tried the FTP site in the previous reply, but apparently it expired today.
Can anyone help?

Is it at all possible you could provide a link to the older firmware version?
We have 9 of these scanners which have just been updated to the latest firmware and now none of the TIFF files work in our software.
We can't change the software which works on the files as the scanners are just 1 source. The other source is the Fax Server which generates the majority of the files to CCITT Group 4.
If there is anyone who can help, please reply.
And if you read this and can't help, please reply, just so I know people are getting this.
We only ran the upgrade to fix a timeout issue - the scanners are all remote over VPN and sometimes fail to send all the scans resulting in a zero bytes file and the rest of the files not arriving.
The dox for the upgrade do not mention anything to do with compression/jpeg/tiff/etc.
We now have a completely mixed up archive. Fortunately we have all the originals but it will take me a day or so to sort out the archive.
Not happy at all.
And the worse thing was that this is an old issue and that there should be SOMEONE active at HP to highlight this issue and log it against the firmware.
Really not happy. Lots of shouty users and in desperate need of a holiday.

All these questions have the same issue/answer.
If anyone can help me, please reply!

Can you provide a link for me to download?
It is a 9250C, currently with firmware 20080404 48.051.7.
It seems bizarre that functionality would be removed for a NEWER version of firmware.

In a nutshell, the firmware did not allow the correct source setting (UI or AI) to apply to file generation, where a 1 Bit Black and White product should be created. For TIFF this means Black and White using G4 Compression. When more complicated scans are assumed or selected by the user interface (UI) we go to Grey and use JPEG to compress the file. G4 methods do not function with color or hi-bit complex images and HP does not use G4 on Greyscale for this model. Earlier firmware versions allowed all selections for output like the 9200C did.
I cannot supply the firmware version you require. Either HP or another willing forum user may do this though.
