Hi, we've had new 7000's put into our plant along with a new updated DFE station.
However, as its all new DFE software, the new DFE is not compatible with all our other DFE's due to the new one being newer software.
Also, with the RIPs now needing Licences to use them, we have currently got Rips which are disabled, but just need the Licences put onto them.
Does anybody know where we go on the new software to update these Licences so that we can run them? Is it on System Manager or on the Rip itself or on the Devices Screen which you get by using the control button?
Know the older DFE software well and getting my head round the new software on the new DFE. Quite similar, just with the odd changes and certain parts moved to different areas but can't moan as it seems much better to use.
You would have thought that HP would have designed it so that the software would be backwards compatible, so that we could just export all of our hot folders/ticket templates/substrates etc from the older DFE's to the new DFE.
But no, one of us will have to spend all day recreating all our hot folders, ticket templates etc as HP won't Unless somebody knows a way of doing it so that we can simply import the old settings onto the new DFE?

On the System Manager host you will need to setup an environment variable that points to your license server.
The environment variable looks something like this:
Replace LicenseServerName with the hostname or IP address of the machine where your RIP License server resides.
