Our Oracle DBA tried to invoke a SQL*PLUS svrmgrl and receive the following error message:
ORA-12571 "TNSL packet writer failure:
Cause: An error occurred during a data send.
This occurs on Digitual Unix when the node on which Oracle is starting is part of a Digital TruCluster.

Problem Explanation:
Configuration of the Trucluster software is incomplete.

Solutino descripton:
The tie-breaker disk has not been correctly configured on the Digital Trucluster system.

To resolve this error, you must configure the tie-breaker disk using the Digital utility 'cnxset'.

But I don't find a cnxset unix command in our Tru64 system.

We are running Tru64 5.1B-4.

# clu_get_info -full
System not configured to be in a cluster

Do I need to configure the server with TruCluster enbable? and how?

Re: ORA-12571

This problem had been resolved by decreased the shmmax in the /etc/sysconfigtab file and added inet section in the sysconfigtab as well. I am not sure which one makes that work, by decreasing the shmax or the inet or the both.
Does anyone got any suggestion?
