Trying to access a database and getting this error message after backing up the Image DB and restoring it to a newly created account on my HP3000.
Access to this file is denied for the specified file access; a security
violation occurred. (FILE OPEN ERROR -248)
File System message 248
HPFOPEN failed. (LDRERR 56)
Native mode loader message 56
I created the new accounts/groups/users using Buldacct and added an X to the new account name. DBUTIL reports access is enabled.

maybe the Image database is (was) attached
to an SQL DBE and can now no longer access
the Allbase files? I seem to vaguely recall
that the Allbase references internally use
absolute file names and thus don't relocate
"nicely" when moved to another account.
IMAGESQL or DBUTIL might help detaching SQL.

Hi. I have the same error message.
I am running MANMAN on an HP3000 using MPEiX.
I had to restore my system from the SLT tape and then my database files, all this has gone OK. In doing this the access and capability have defaulted. I have changed access and capabilities as per a setup from ASK. When I run SYSMAN.PUB.MMV113 as manager from the database account (AERO2000), the normal way of doing this, I get the same error message as Mike?!?!
Can you help at all, I suspect I am the only user left in Australia.

(You're not the only MPE shop in Oz...we have customers there)
This is a file system level error. The text for the error message is:
Access to this file is denied for the
specified file access; a security violation
Did you restore the directory? Did you run 'buldjob1'? Do you use SQL like Lars asked about?
