"Internal Error: Cannot parse the client information buffer"

I'm getting the below error

"Internal Error: Cannot parse the client information buffer"

when data Protector tryies to take the backup of the Windows server, backup is failling with cannot connect to the inet service.

Tried the below troubleshooting steps:

1. Host connectivity from Master and client with port 5555

2. Restarted the inet service on client machine.

But still my backup is failling with above error.

Can any one please help me out with this issue.

Thanks,

Re: "Internal Error: Cannot parse the client information buffer"

you say you tested host connectivity through port 5555... did you do it by trying to telnet port 5555 from one host to other (both ways)? did it respond correctly? (you have to get the service responding it is from data protector inet service)

Re: "Internal Error: Cannot parse the client information buffer"

is this a single hosted client?

When dual LAN's are present, beware for the name resolving.....

Re: "Internal Error: Cannot parse the client information buffer"

I have exactly the same problem, has anyone some ideas, how can I resolve it?

telnet is working from client and server too, inet service and the machines were restarted.

I checked the log files, but there are nothing from the last few days.

Im using win2003 on every machines.

Thanks a lot
