data protector 8 with virtual integration

Hi,

I have DP 8 on win 2008r2 environment (esx 5.1). I 'am trying to configure a plug in for backup virtual machine.

But when I configure a parameter in the screenshot I receive this error:

Integration cannot be configured.

description:

The database reported error while performing requested operation.
System Error: [11004] No data record available

thanks

Re: data protector 8 with virtual integration

Can you check to see if you have Encrypted Communications enabled on the 'Client' machine (that you have crossed out) by looking at the clients context in the GUI

While I didn't find anything directly related to VMware or VEPA reporting this error, I found several occurrances of the system error

[11004] No data record available

in relation to other types of integrations

Re: data protector 8 with virtual integration

I was trying to find a Screenshot to send to you, but was unable to

You should be able to go into the Cleint context, expand the list of clients, right-click on this server name, and pick Properties

Or, on the cell manager, run

           cd \Program Files\Omniback\bin

           omnicc -encryption -status -all

This will list out all the servers, and their encryption status

Re: data protector 8 with virtual integration

Hi,

please check in addition with your VMware admin if SDK is installed (not all admins install all features...).

Best regards

Re: data protector 8 with virtual integration

you can check C:\ProgramData\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\vpxd.cfg file and see

sso-adminserver/sdk/vsphere.local</uri>

above path if you have SDK.

one question.Did you imported Vcenter Server or Vcloud director as i can see "Organization" option is enabled in the screenshot.

Re: data protector 8 with virtual integration

Hi,

if you recently upgraded from DP 7 to 8 you need to export the virtual center server client and import it again as VC server. Now you should be able to configure it.

Best regards

Daniel
