You do not have permissions to automatically create a key.

A copy operation to a physical LTO-4 cartridge that should be physically encrypted (LTO encryption) gives the following error:

You do not have permissions to automatically create a key.

The user trying to do the copy operation has all the rights EXCEPT the following ones:

Clients configuration

User configuration

Start restore

Restore to other clients

Restore from other clients

Restore as root

When I try to re-run the same copy operation by a user in the Admin group, I get no errors and the session completes successfully.

What permissions should I set for the user who gets this error?

Thanks.

Re: You do not have permissions to automatically create a key.

Hi,

I had the same problem, the error was that the library was reboot and encryption were disabled or loguot, so go to the web application from the library and log-in again, and I solved it.

Hope this help.

Re: You do not have permissions to automatically create a key.

Thank you Eblyn for your response. However, this is not a tape library related problem.
