Omnidbutil -writedb

Hi,

I just did

Omnidbutil –purge –filenames –days 1  -force

Omnidbutil –writedb –mmdb c:\IDBtemp -cdb c:\IDBtemp

Omnidbutil –readdb –mmdb c:\IDBtemp -cdb c:\IDBtemp

but omnidbutil -readdb seemed hung in the process. I haven't got any error message yet, but it's been 2 hours and it was still at

Imporing file names and file version for client5.van.org..... instead proceeding to the next client.

Would it error out eventually (if there is really a problem?)

Thank you.

Re: Omnidbutil -writedb

Hi,

If you check the size of the file that is importing how big is it? importing the filenames can take a long time.

Also check task manager on the cell manager, how much ram and CPU is rds.exe and omnidbutil.exe using? This will give you a good indication of whether the process has hung

Re: Omnidbutil -writedb

The file size is 600 MB.

I think it somehow stuck. It has been about 12 hours now since it started imporing this particular file. It imported another file with the size about 430 MB in 3 minutes yesterday no problem.

Checked the CPU and memory, nothing is stressing the cell manager.

Wonder if I need to stop the omnisv and just copy back the db40 folder?

Re: Omnidbutil -writedb

Hi,

Post output for:

omnidbcheck -extended

maybe you have some corruption in your IDB

Copy the folder db40  works, but if you have any corruption the move in the folder.

C:\Program Files\Omniback\bin\omnidb -strip

C:\Program Files\OmniBack\omnidbutil -purge -filenames -dcbf -days number of days that you want keep> –force

C:\Program Files\Omniback\bin\omnidbutil -purge -sessions <number of days that you want keep>

C:\Program Files\Omniback\bin\omnidbutil -purge -messages <number of days that you want keep>

Re: Omnidbutil -writedb

omnidbcheck -extended is still running.

I will post the result as soon as it's finished.

The commands that I ran were

Omnidbutil –purge –filenames –days 1  -force
Omnidbutil –purge –sessions 1  -force
Omnidbutil –purge –messages 1  -force
Omnidbutil –purge –DCBF –days 1  -force
omnidbutil -purge_failed_copies

except omnidb -strip

Would it cause the problem by not running omnidb -strip?

Thank you.
