Omniback II V 3.5 and Windows 2000

I have just installed OB II V. 3.5 on my NT Primary Domain Controller(Only Disk and userinterface)and and then upgraded the server to windows 2000 Advanced Server.
Now the OmniBack II INET service won't start, the error message is 4294967295 and nothing else!
I have tried rebooting the server and I have reinstalled the Disk and user interface with no luck.
Please, do anyone know a solution to my problem.
I have waited for the Version 3.5, so I could upgrade my PDC to windows 2000.

Re: Omniback II V 3.5 and Windows 2000

I pulled this excerpt from the Omniback II version 3.5 Installation & Licensing manual
available at www.openview.hp.com in

Library
->Product Manuals
-> Omniback II 3.5

--begin excerpt---
Upgrading from Windows NT to Windows 2000

Once you have upgraded from Windows NT to Windows 2000 system,
you need to update your OmniBack II A.03.50 release version in order to keep it functioning properly.

On the Cell Manager
---------------------
To upgrade your OmniBack II Cell Manager on Windows 2000, do the following:

1. Start the OmniBack II Cell Manager installation.
2. In the Setup page of the installation wizard, click Upgrade it to
the OmniBack II 3.5.

CAUTION: You should not reinstall your OmniBack II software, so you can keep
your old OmniBack II database and other configuration information. Therefore,
in the Setup page of the installation wizard, DO NOT select
"Uninstall currently installed version".

On the Client System
-------------------------
To upgrade your OmniBack II client system(s) on Windows 2000, install
the clients remotely using the Installation Server (IS) concept.
For more information on installing the clients see ?Installing the
OmniBack II Client Systems? on page 33.

If you access the manual and you are still
having problems, please place a support call to the HP Response Center

Re: Omniback II V 3.5 and Windows 2000

Doublecheck that the account that Omniback is using is still valid.

Also be aware that Omniback is going to have problems if name resolution is not set up properly (a problem I had when I set up active directory services and NT DNS) and if you are using advanced security services such as proxy/firewalling.

Re: Omniback II V 3.5 and Windows 2000

Have you rebooted the server since the upgrade?

Also, try starting the service from the command prompt (net start omniinet) - you may get more, better, or differrent errors.

The more info we have the better chance we have to resolve the problem.
