Re: JAva GUI interface doesn't display "Devices & MEdia" tab

If the client in question is the CM, then please run the "upgrade" on the Data Protector CM from the client context. Are there any error messages if you invoke xomni from xterm?

Regards,
Sebastian

Re: JAva GUI interface doesn't display "Devices & MEdia" tab

Hi

I already did upgrade this component on client of CM and nthg changed.

Still is the same problem, it is weird because on Windows client, console works properly.

Re: JAva GUI interface doesn't display "Devices & MEdia" tab

Please provide omnicheck -patches from the Linux client. I've seen this behavior with a very early version of the Java GUI. I usually work with the Windows GUI, even with a UNIX CS. But you might need it for Linux EADR. Are there any error messages you can share with us after the following is displayed when you invoke xomni especially when you do a context switch to Device and Media.

"Java GUI has been started, please wait a moment ..."

The Java version looks fine. You can try to setup a Java GUI on a Windows client to see if the uiproxy provides valid information.

Please also provide...

omnisv status

/opt/omni/java/server/bin/uiproxyd -version

ldd /opt/omni/java/server/bin/uiproxyd

Regards,

Sebastian

[ Edited ]

Ok, thats a known issue. Refer to the following article. You can try to remove ~/omniback before starting the Java GUI.

After applying Patch Bundle b621 , [Device & Media] context can not be used on Java GUI
