Installing DataProtector Agent on Solaris 8

Good morning,

I'm trying to install the DataProtector Agent on a Solaris 8 server.

We have a Cell Manager 7 / Installation Server on a Windows server host.

The agent provide with this version won't install on Solaris 8.

Which version of DPA should I install and where can I find it ?

Thank you for your help.

Re: Installing DataProtector Agent on Solaris 8

We've got a couple of Solaris 8 servers.  They are on DP 5.5 DiskAgent.

But I do not have access to this version of the agent, I only have agent v 7.00...

Where can I download it ?

Re: Installing DataProtector Agent on Solaris 8

Solaris 8 Disk agent was last available with DP 6.21

Although not officially supported, there are some that, because of Application restrictions, are using different version of DP within the same cell

You would need to download the installation bits for DP 6 from the URL

https://h20575.www2.hp.com/evalportal/displayProductsList.do?prdcenter=HPSS_DM&lang=en&cc=US&hpappid...

and install the disk agent for Solaris, and import it into your cell

You would also need to make this Solaris a Installation server, so that you could download the patch bundle DPSOLBDL_00621  for DP 6.21, available at

http://support.openview.hp.com/selfsolve/patches

install it , and distribute it to your Solaris server

Re: Installing DataProtector Agent on Solaris 8

Hi,

I've download this file > Software_HP_DP_6.11_for_Media_Operations_B7129_15005.iso.

I've install the client, "HPMedOps.pk" from the folder "xmlgw\solaris".

The services are correctyl running: "hpdmcomms successfully started" and "hpdpxmlgw successfully started".

But I'm not sur if I have installed the correct agent, because the services are running on ports "25555" and "25556".

Can you tell me if I'm wrong for now ?

Thank you.
