Install agents on linux client via cli

Hi I need help.

DP 8 CM Linux

To add clients linux, CM demands public-private key pair. Is there a alternate way to install agents
on the client without using this trusted relation ?

Something like using ssh on CM to install the agent with authentication via cli ?

TIA and best regards
Jose

Re: Install agents on linux client via cli

i dont know if you can change this behaviour. but what you could do is to install the DP Client localy on the Server. But this is only a solutsion if you need to install 2-3 clients. If you have many clients, this is not the way to go.

you can use LOCAL_INSTALL\omnisetup.sh script from the intall DVD on the client on which you want to install DP Agents

./omnisetup.sh -server <cellserver.domain.local> -install da

-> does install Disk agent

Maybe a DP Linux speciallist can help here...

Re: Install agents on linux client via cli

Hi can someone tell me how to ftp/install from CM the disk agent packet.Z ?

For Linux is this the correct path :

/opt/omni/databases/vendor/da/gpl/x86_64/linux-x86-64/A.08.00

file packet.Z

packet.Z: RPM v3.0 bin i386/x86_64 OB2-DA-A.08.00-1

Any ideas ?

TIA and best regards

Re: Install agents on linux client via cli

Do you have a UNIX-based installation server installed?  Looking at this thread, I get the feeling that you don't

Remove installation is done one of 2 ways:

Using remote access commands, for example

rlogin

rexec

rcp

Using Secure Shell (SSH)

If you are going to use SSH, you need to enable it in the file

            /opt/omni/.omnirc

on the Installation server.  This file does not exist by default, so you can use the UNIX command

         touch /opt/omni/.omnirc

Once the file is created, or, if it already exists,  add this line

OB2_SSH_ENABLED=1

Save the file

Re: Install agents on linux client via cli

Hi,

in this case you have to copy at least the core and da package on every server. Rename the packet.Z files to i.e. core.rpm and da.rpm. Now you can proceed your local installation using rpm command. However, I recommend to use ssh, rexec, rcp, ... for the installation. The RSA key is only required for the initial installation, you can remove it afterwards.

Best regards

Daniel
