How to run a DB2 and a FS Job in the same schedule

Hello,

i have a Backup Procedure where I have to Backup a DB2 Database and Files from the same Server.

At the moment i´ve realized it with a Post-exec script that is starting a second Backupjob for the Filesystem.

I always get the following Message:

[Major]

From: BSM@xxxxxx.net"Backup DB2 Test" Time: 03.09.2013 16:20:14

Session post-exec script xxxxxx.bat failed. Exit code = -2.

Is there a better way for my challenge?

Thank You!! Kind Regards,

Andreas

Re: How to run a DB2 and a FS Job in the same schedule

Other than scheduling your second backup job to be sure it starts the DB2 backup finishes, no there is really no other method

I suggest that you try running your post-exec script by itself to be sure that there is nothing wrong with the script

If not, make sure that the script lives in the same directory as the executables on the cell manager

UNIX

        /opt/omni/lbin

Windows

Program Files -> Omniback -> bin

However, I don't see any reason why these backups couldn't be running at the same time, unless they share a device, there is nothing in Data Protector that prohibits this

Re: How to run a DB2 and a FS Job in the same schedule

Hi,

you need to stay with your post exec script, as pooling of filesystem backups and integration backups is possible in DP. Use the suggestion from Bob.

To see why your post exec fails, please post the content of the file.

Best regards

Daniel

Re: How to run a DB2 and a FS Job in the same schedule

Hi,

i appreciate your answers. I found a sollution for my Challenge.

I´am now useing the Notifications instead of Post-Exec-Script to build a chain of Backups.

I created a notification to start a Batch as soon as it get a End of Session result from the first Backup Session.

Manny Thanks!!!

Kind Regards,

Andreas
