How to get tape label easily? - Dataprotector 6.1

Our customer has put labels over their tapes and now don't know what tapes are for which day/week etc..

I can read the barcodes using uma –ioctl, but unfortunately that does not give the tape label.

A scan of the tape doesn't show it either as far as I can see, so at present just importing which is taking ages, there must be a quicker way?

Anyone know?

If you kow the BarCode label, at the command prompt, you can run

omnimm -media_info [Barcode] -detail          Do not include the [  ] marks

For example

    omnimm -media_info AC412L4 -detail

This is dependant on the media already being in the Internal Database.  If it isn't, there is a command called TapeAnalyser which is much more complex, but, may give you a media label
